Dr.
Li Li
Chief Investigator
The University of Queensland
Dr Li Li is a senior material scientist and an ARC Mid-Career Industry Fellow at the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN), the University of Queensland (UQ). She leads a multidisciplinary research group on biomineral material development for energy production and storage, sustainable-release nanofertilisers, and RNA delivery for human health and agriculture.
She has developed nanoencapsulation and surface coating technologies to manipulate the features of nanomaterials as nano-additives for poultry growth, as a delivery platform for natural plant extract delivery, and as nanofertilisers and RNA carriers for plant growth and vaccines.
She has built strong national and international collaborations and attracted more than $13 million in competitive research grants individually or in partnership with colleagues since 2012. She has been awarded the ARC Mid-Career Industry Fellowship and Advance Queensland Industry Research Fellowship. Her research has been recognised with several awards, such as the IAAM Scientist Medal, Churchill Medallion and Fellowship, and QLD International Fellowship. She has collaborated closely with experts and industry partners on advanced materials, surface engineering, and controlled release. Dr Li is committed to utilising nanotechnology and translational research to deliver outcomes that improve animal healthcare, lift agricultural productivity, and promote environmental sustainability, in partnership with the agricultural industry and end-users.
