Prof.
Dongke Zhang
Deputy Director , Flagship Project Lead Investigator
The University of Western Australia
Mr Dongke Zhang is an academic staff member of the UWA Department of Chemical Engineering and director of the UWA Centre for Energy. An enthusiastic and can-do engineer, his research interest is in fuel processing and combustion and their practical applications.
However, he is more interested in cooking, swimming and general aviation when he is not making anything that burns or when he is not burning anything.
He resigned from his fellowship from Engineers Australia and Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) because in his view they no longer represent the value of the profession that he was once proud of. He remains as a fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (ATSE) for the time-being but is considering quitting because ATSE is increasingly an ideology driven organisation rather than a learned academy.
